Concerns about an opioid crisis may have you wondering how you can take action to prevent prescription drug misuse and abuse. Oregon State University Extension is offering two free, 45-minute classes 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening, October 23rd, or 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, October 24th, called, “Safe Medications for Life.” Participants will learn how to protect their family, guests and pets from accidental drug mishandling. Tips will address medication directions, storing medications securely, and disposing of out-of-date or excess medications safely. Each family participating will get a free, locking medication storage box, sponsored in part by Northwest Farm Credit Services. To register, call OSU Extension at 541-548-6088 by Monday, October 22.
