Global Warming in Central Oregon: Impacts & Opportunities

It seems easy to ignore the destructive advance of global warming. Yet, complacency is leading to dangerous, escalating, and irreversible risks. Due to inattention, global warming’s destructive force has grown from a distant threat to an everyday presence, a near crisis. We ignore these risks at our own peril.  Attend the FREE event at Worthy Brewing on Thursday, January 24 at 7:00 pm where presenters will provide a snapshot of current and projected impacts: from wildfires, to recreation, air quality, and water supplies. Equally important will be the presentation of expanding options for personal and collective involvement in reducing future risks. Presenters include George Wuerthner, ecologist and author of 38 publications on topics from forestry to wildfire; Yancy Lind, fisheries activist: Bill Knights, retired NOAA scientist and educator on earth, ocean, and atmospheric science; and Diane Hodiak, executive director of 350Deschutes, a nonprofit organization working on climate actions, policy, and education. Seating is limited, RSVP early to save your seathttps://actionnetwork.org/events/global-warming-in-central-oregon-impacts-opportunities?source=direct_link&
