One Hundred Year Old Memories of Central Oregon on the Friday Point

Historic Moments of Central Oregon when we will listen to Kessler Cannon’s 15 minute history with Dominick Verges, a Basque sheepherder who first arrived in Central Oregon in 1911. Verges herded sheep until 1932, when he switched to cattle. He gives us a pioneer’s perspective on ranching in Deschutes and Crook Counties, especially the hardships of the sheep herder.  Kelly Cannon-Miller, Executive Director of Deschutes Historical Society joins us to enhance the historical content about Central Oregon history.
