KPOV is a volunteer-powered community radio station.  What unites us is a desire to broaden the kinds of music, information and conversation available on your radio dial here in Central Oregon.  KPOV volunteers have a passion for radio, for music, for community involvement, for politics, and for going local.

Volunteers make everything happen at KPOV.  From cleaning the station to hosting shows, and everything in between – we rely on volunteers to get it done.  So if you have an interest in being part of your community radio station, please click the button below, fill out the interest form, and we will give you a call soon. Yes, we need you!

Help with a KPOV MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

KPOV is a listener-supported station and most of that support comes during our Spring and Fall membership drives. Like everything else we do, the success of each drive requires an entire community of helping hands. You are the key to community radio, after all.

We need folks like you to answer phones (we have many shifts available), help out with general office work, and even go on the air! No experience necessary and we provide training. It’s a lot fun, there’s great food and coffee, and you will meet some pretty cool people in the studio.

Just click the Sign Up button above, check that you want to volunteer for the membership drive, and use the notes section to tell us what you are interested in doing.

Become a KPOV DJ or program host

KPOV’s on-air hosts are dedicated volunteers who want to broaden the kinds of music and conversation available on your radio dial.   And many, if not most, have no prior experience in radio—except as listeners—before they got involved in KPOV. If you have a passion for radio, and for community, you can train to become a KPOV DJ. More information on the steps to become a KPOV program host is here: Learn More

KPOV Volunteer of the Year Award

KPOV has been blessed over the years with an incredible group of volunteers who have given countless hours of their time and energy to help our station. Without them, we couldn’t stay on the air and provide the type of broad based programming that reflects our High Desert Community.  Each year we honor individuals who have excelled in their service to KPOV with our Volunteer of the Year award. We are grateful for the many ways in which they have helped us, and thank all of the volunteers who have assisted us in the past and continue today to make us a station that remains dedicated to serving our community.
