Position Summary

The Membership Manager is responsible for growing and sustaining KPOV’s base of individual donors and members. This includes developing strategies for recruitment, retention, engagement, and stewardship. The role involves planning and executing semi-annual on-air fund drives, campaigns, donor communications, and outreach events.

This position requires collaboration with the Executive Director, Development Committee, Board of Directors, volunteers, and other staff to build community support and awareness for KPOV. The Membership Manager is expected to set clear fundraising goals, track progress, and contribute meaningfully to the station’s financial stability by generating revenue that, over time, covers their compensation.

 

Key Responsibilities

●        Develop and execute an annual membership plan and campaign-specific fundraising goals with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Development Committee aligned with KPOV’s strategic priorities and donor engagement strategies

●        Track, evaluate, and report on donor and member engagement performance monthly

●        Coordinate semi-annual fund drives, year-end giving, sustaining member programs, and donor thank-you efforts

●        Event planning associated with donor engagement and community outreach

●        Manage donor records and generate reports using DonorPerfect (preferred)

●        Develop member and donor communications via email (Constant Contact) and social media (Facebook, Instagram)

Qualifications

●        Passion for community media and alignment with KPOV’s mission and values

●        Demonstrated experience in development, fundraising, marketing, or member relations

●        Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

●        Familiarity with nonprofit development strategies and donor engagement best practices.

●        Self-motivated, reliable, and aligned with KPOV’s mission

●        Comfortable using donor databases (preferably DonorPerfect), email marketing platforms, and social media tools
