Job Description:

KPOV Community Radio is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Business Development Manager to lead and grow the station’s financial support through underwriting, sponsorship development, and strategic business partnerships. This role is responsible for creating sustainable revenue opportunities that align with KPOV’s mission while expanding the station’s visibility and value within the Central Oregon business community.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, entrepreneurial, results-oriented, and passionate about KPOV and cultivating business support. The Business Development Manager will maintain a laser-focused approach to outreach,  revenue generation, accountability, and measurable growth while serving as a key  connector between KPOV and local businesses, organizations, and sponsors. Prior experience in community radio business development is highly desirable for this position.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop underwriting and program sponsorship opportunities to increase  station revenue.

  • Prospect, cultivate, and maintain relationships with local Central OR businesses,  nonprofits, and community partners.

  • Identify large donor prospects

  • Sell on-air underwriting packages that align with FCC guidelines.

  • Handle the traffic (on-air scheduling) and production of all spots sold.

  • Create customized sponsorship opportunities tailored to partner goals and  audience engagement.

  • Renew and expand existing underwriting relationships while identifying and  growing new business opportunities.

  • Maintain consistent outreach activity with clear sales goals and benchmarks.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience in underwriting, sponsorship sales, fundraising • business development, or partnership management.

  • Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to work independently and proactively manage outreach efforts.

  • Experience creating proposals, sponsorship packages, or revenue strategies.

  • Familiarity with digital advertising and marketing opportunities preferred. • Strong organizational and reporting skills with attention to measurable outcomes.

  • Passion for community radio, nonprofit organizations, and local engagement.

  • Knowledge of FCC underwriting guidelines preferred.

Compensation: $27.00 - $30.00 (Hourly)

Benefits: No health benefits. 6 paid holidays. 10 days of PTO in year one based on FT employee (pro-rated for part-time staff)
