The High Desert Food and Farm Alliance (HDFFA) believes that all people deserve "good food" and that locally sourced food nourishes the community. Executive Director Sharon Maier-Kennelly talked about the efforts of the organization to partner with local farmers and ranchers to eliminate food waste, feed those in need, connect with local food providers, and be the link to locally sourced food in Central Oregon.

City Club's Conversation on Food Insecurity with Alayne Fardella

Food insecurity is a growing crisis in Central Oregon. In just six years, the need for emergency food distribution has tripled — a stark indicator of deepening challenges for local families, children, and seniors. The Wisdom of First Foods with Dr. Drew Collins

Dr. Drew Evan Collins, ND, is a naturopathic physician, acupuncturist, artist, and herbalist. He visited The Point on KPOV to talk about his book, The Wisdom of First Foods: Exploring the Traditional Diet of Central Oregon's First Nations, and his painting that inspired it. Dr. Collins practices integrative medicine and is the owner and director of Proactive Choice.
